Joy Jechow
Pre-Kindergarten

I was blessed to have precious Christian parents who lived their faith, and imparted it to me by their teaching and example.  I have been married to Michael Jechow for 27 years.  He is an appraiser for Capital Farm Credit.  We have three children:  Luke, 24, Elyssa, 20, and Hannah, 16.  They all grew up in Uvalde, where we have lived for 23 years.  Luke is a graduate of Texas A&M University and a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force, stationed at Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Elyssa is a junior at Texas A&M University, majoring in English.  Hannah is a sophomore at Uvalde High School, where she stays busy with her studies, Lobo basketball, and jazz band.

I am in my ninth year of teaching at St. Philip's Episcopal School.  Seven on those years have been in early childhood classes.  It is a joy and an honor to teach at St. Philip's.  In the faces of the children who are my students, I see the face of Jesus.  I believe in helping the children to acquire a strong foundation of knowledge, within a structure of Christian faith, love,  and respect.
